Blogging Review

I have had a lot of fun doing this blog. I love movies and I found it easy to write stuff every Monday. I like being able to express how I felt about a movie to any one instead of telling my friends who have already seen it. I did not like having to connect it to my tweets.I felt like I was not using the correct hash tag or not relating it correctly because I was not quite sure what to say every time. I think I could have seen more recent movies to give them reviews so people could see what i thought about recent movies. I did not really enjoy the twitter part but I like blogging and getting my feelings and opinions out. I thought it was easy to find followers that were interested in movies and all of the big movie companies had twitters so it was fun reading their tweets everyday and seeing what they thought of a movie and all of the new movie poster. I think social media is a great way to connect with others but in this case I found it as more entertainment rather than work. this is because I never had any interactions with they companies so they did not really help nor hinder my social media experience. I realized that I do like to blog and it is fun to put your opinions out for any one to see. I am also happy I got a twitter even though I really did not like relating it to my blog. I think my favorite this we did this year was definitely blogging I am happy I got the experience and I might continue blogging after this class ends. This class helped to improve my digital foot print and I am glad I got to take this class.

The Sitter

Over the weekend I saw The Sitter. It was really funny but slightly inappropriate. Jonah Hill plays the worlds worst baby sitter watching the worlds worst kids. They get in a lot of trouble while trying to get to a party. A crazy drug dealer is trying to kill them, they got their car stolen and one of the kids keeps blowing stuff up. In the end every one got home safe but the car had a few scratches. You should definitely go see it just remember it is rated R.

Mothers Day

Yesterday was Mothers Day and in my family that means relaxing and watching movies. I don't know why but my family can sit on the couch all day watch movies. After we were done shopping and having brunch we watched movies. We watched a lot of Nicholas Sparks movies. It started with the time travels wife which was really good it was my first time watching it so I was confused but it was an overall good movie. Then my sister and I watched The Last Song which of course we both cried. I have seen that movie multiple times but it makes me cry every time. The boy that plays Jonah is a great actor and he is the only reason why I cried. If you haven't seen these movies yet I suggest you do because they are great movies.

The Avengers

Over the weekend I saw The Avengers. It was amazing! In this Marvel movie the army had to put their Avengers indicative in to action and call this motley crew of 6 to save the day. This team includes Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk Black Widow, and Hawk Eye. The movie had the perfect amount of action and comedy to make it a great movie. I am some one that doesn't really follow the Marvel movies but in this one even if you have never seen any of the movies it is clear who is who and why everything is happening. The villain in this one is Loki Thor's evil brother. He is trying to take over the world with the dark side of Ascar and become their king because Thor is the really king of Ascar. This is a great movie for all ages but it also has its scary parts even I jumped a few time. Hope you get to see it.

Tangled

My sister loves the movie Tangled. I actually think she wishes she is Rapunzel or otherwise know as Blondy. The movie is a Disney remake of Rapunzel. Like the classic Rapunzel she is trapped in the tower with her long blonde hair and, but in this one she has a thief find her in the hidden tower and decides to explore the unknown (to her) with her pet lizard. One of the best parts of the movie is right after she leaves the tower. She is at war with herself about leaving and betraying her mother that is on a trip to get her paint for her birthday. While on Rapunzel's journey to see the floating lights she gets into some trouble with her new found friend Flynn Rider. She also realizes that she is the missing princess and was kidnapped as a baby by her thought to be mother that was just using her for her magical hair. I know that this was a lot to take in but it is a great movie and everyone in your family will love it.

Classics

Over vacation I also watched some great classic movies from when I was younger. My friends decide that we had to watch Chicken Run. They all said they loved it so we watched it. What we didn't remember from when we were kids was how mean and scary the farmer and the farm owner were. Another thing I watched was Wallace and Gromit. I watched the TV show but it is still a classic from when I was a kid so I had to put it in here. In one of the episodes Gromit went to jail because an evil dog framed him. Another one was he had to defeat a thieving penguin. I suggest you watch them and remember what you loved about them when you were little.

TV Movies

Over vacation when I had nothing to do I watched movies that were on TV. It was a large variety of movies. I watched The Benchwarmers, Along came polly, some Disney Channel movies, Paul Blart Mall-Cop, and A Cinderella Story: Once Apon a Song. These are definitely not the best movies but when you at home with nothing to do they are something. Unfortunately I didn't get to see my favorite Cinderella Story movie which of course is the one with Hillary Duff. I hope you guys got to see some good movies this week weather you were on vacation or not.

Happy Feet 2

Happy Feet 2 came out while ago but it just recently came out on DVD. I saw it in theaters and loved it but it is just as good the second time around. It has the classic story about a penguin struggling to fit in and its usual twist that relates to a real life problem. In the first movie the problem was pollution and the problem in the second one is global warming. The classic dancing penguin Mumble has had a child and his name is Eric. Eric doesn't understand why everyone sings and dances so he has trouble fitting in. The movie includes songs like "Under Pressure", "Mama said knock you out", "I'm bringing fluffy back", and "Let's Dance, Let's Shout, Shake Your Body (Down To the Ground)". If you haven't seen it yet I suggest you do it is funny and good for the whole family.

The Lorax

I saw The Lorax a few weeks ago. It was a good movie with lots of funny catchy songs. I went with 5 other friends and we were the only teenagers there. It is definitely for a younger group but if you are a kid at heart like my friends and I are then this is a great movie to see. It had some cute characters and it brought us back to when we were little and used to read the book. I hope you go see and find the kid inside of you.

The Hunger Games

I know it has been a while since I last blogged but the best way to start it off is with The Hunger Games. I went to the midnight premiere and it was great. I was slightly disappointed with some of the things in the movie. First of all they went through everything so fast. The book is very descriptive and some of the deaths and hallucinations were disappointing. For example when Glimmer dies and Katniss is hallucinating over her body it is not as gory and gross as it should have been. I think they casted  people very well Jenifer Lawrence was amazing as Katniss and Josh Hutcherson as peeta and Liam Hemsworth as Gale. I also wish they had explained Gale as a character a little better but they will have a lot of time in the second movie to do that. If you have not seen it go see it!

Footloose

Over the weekend I saw the newer Footloose for the first time. I thought it was okay it definitely had a few noticeable differences. The biggest difference for me was the played holding out for a hero twice when it should only be played during the chicken fight. I thought the casting wasn't terrible I liked the fact that the actor that played Ren was actually from Boston. I think if you saw the first Footloose you should definitely see this one and see which you like better. I am a fan of the first on. Let me know how you feel about it.

The Hunger Games

I can not wait for the Hunger Games to come out. I have already bought my ticket to the midnight premiere. I am a little worried that it could be disappointing because the book is so descriptive that the costumes and characters might not be what people had imagined. Right now I am on the second book and its a little slow going, but I have less than 100 pgs left and can't wait to finish and start the third. For this series they plan on having movies for all 3 books. The first one comes out on march 23rd, the second one comes out i believe next year and then the last one is going to be in 2 parts and come out in 2015. If you haven't read the books yet I suggest you do and read fast because the movie is quickly approaching. YAY!

The Oscars

Sunday was theOscars! Of course I had to watch it. I never saw huge but it took home 3 awards and some how none of them were for best director. Best supporting actress was give to Octavia Spencer. I was hoping that Melissa McCarthy would win for Bridesmaids which is hilarious and if you have not seen please watch it. Meryl Streep won for best lead actress, Jean Dujardin got best lead actor. Those are just a few of the winners at this year Oscars. Billy Crystal host this year for the 9th time and I thought he did very good. I hope you all got to watch it was a great show.

Vacation!

Thursday can't come fast enough. I am leaving for Florida on Thursday and I am so excited. :) I just found my sunglasses and swim suit it torturing me. A great way to get in a tropical paradise mood is to watch some movies and just relax. One great movie is Lilo and Stitch probably one of my favorite Disney movies by the way. Fun fact my phone case is actually Stitch :p Another good movie is Soul Surfer... you might not want to watch that before you go in the ocean but still a great movie. Hope you like some of my suggestions and even though I'm the one going on Vacation you should take some time and relax too.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!
If you are looking for a movie to watch this valentines day I have a few suggestions. Like I said in my last post a great one to see is The Vow. Another great movie that you can watch is Valentines Day, it came out last year it was funny with so surprising twists. It's a good romantic comedy if you like those. My last suggestion for the day is Serendipity. The movie is basically testing fate and seeing if it really works. It is supposed to be more of a Christmas like movie but, I think it is just as good if you want to watch a cute love story. I was told by some of my friends to add a few more! One that escaped my mind was The Notebook. this movie is amazing i know guys might not be the biggest fans of it... only because they always cry too. example all of my guy friends, they will not watch it with girls because they are embarrassed to cry in front of us and I am not making this up one of them told me :)

The Vow

This weekend I saw The Vow. It is a love story between Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. They fall in love with each other then Rachel gets in a horrible accident and losses her memory from the last five years. I was so excited to see this movie and my expectations were very high that it was a bit of a let down. I am not saying it was a bad movie I thought it was great. I just think that in my opinion it was not what I was expecting. I thought there would be more to the movie. If you want to see a romantic movie just in time for valentines day i say go see this movie. :)

Last Weekend

Over the weekend me and a few friends saw Chronicle. It was a great movie I am not the biggest fan of those kinds of movies but, I can honestly say it was amazing. It had me jumping in my seat and laughing hysterically. This might be a weird way to describe a movie but it was depressing, funny, and it made me wish it never ended. I recommend this movie to everyone hope you like it!

About Me!

Hi my name is Serena. My friends and I see movies all of the time. It has almost become a problem :). We have a wide variety of movies... of course we see anything that is just coming out and looks good but, we also love to watch 80's movies. Also anything from our childhood by the way Disney movies are the best even the Disney Chanel Original movies. So if you and your friends spend your weekends going to the movies then coming home and watching another movie... This is definitely the blog for you.

Why Write a Blog

The reason why I am writing this blog is because my dad always says... that movie got terrible reviews. So of course I have to go see it to prove him wrong. :) This blog is for any one that is tired of hearing from a news paper that the movie you have been so excited to see is terrible.
